No More Nekkidness!

In keeping with the adult theme that seems to be prevelent today, I just have to talk about what is going on in the big city nearby. The Louisville Metro Council is intent on regulating adult businesses in town, namely strip clubs. It seems that after March 1, the following will be law in L'ville, taken from their website...

"Here’s what the ordinance would do: prohibit nudity at all establishments with only semi-nudity being allowed; prohibit alcohol on premises that have semi-nude dancing and require a 500-foot buffer from an establishment serving alcohol with existing legal businesses being allowed to continue to operate through state law as a non-conforming use; create a uniform hours of operation for adult entertainment businesses (9 a.m. to 1 a.m); and rewrite about 25 percent of the existing adult entertainment regulations to ensure that they withstand a court challenge."

So, for the poor girls whose livelihood depended on getting naked and getting tips, it seems they will need to look for other work. From what I have heard, even those establishments that do not serve alcohol still they are not really allowed to be topless, the girls must still wear pasties. How many men (or women) would be into watching someone dance around in her bikini? This is crazy and surely to end the career of more than a few people! Oh and no more touching the girls, even to give a tip...there must now be a tip jar on the stage. WTH! Oh, and forget couch dances, those are a thing of the past in L'ville. Honestly, what is wrong with the girl getting a little touchy/feely just to make a few extra bucks?

So, if you live in the Louisville area, be prepared to drive a bit to get your nekkid girl fix cause it ain't happenin' around these parts anymore and I must say, I think it is complete and utter b*s! What do you think?

All I know that is insane. It to me is just another instance where people who consider themselves "A Moral Majority" interfere with honest buisness and the working people. These actions are going to cause a mjor loss of buisness to Louisville and an influx to Lexington. The unemployment rate for the city is going to rise, I am sure several woman who worked in these places will have to go on wellfare for sometime until they can find decent work again. It's all just stupidity. Look at Las Vegas, not only do they have strip bars and such but the place has legal prostitution. It may have a high crime rate but that is probably due more to gambling than anything. I am a proponent in the federal legalization of prostitution. It's humanities oldest profession the freaking government should legalize it and start pulling taxes from it. I mean legal brothels where they keep the girls clean and with medical insurance. Imagine it. Well, I have rambled enough. Everyone have a good weekend.

Yeah, the are really looking at the smoking ban in L'ville and while I think it is crazy too, at least it doesn't put people out of work.

Hey, SS...I say we make one last visit to L'ville, then it'll be "roadtrip"!!!! ;)

I remember when the Lexington city council tried to shut down the titty bars. Prior to that, strip clubs followed the same informal rule that clubs in Lost Angeles and Vegas have: If you serve alcohol, dancers can only be topless. In order to have full nudity, the bar must be non-alcoholic. This caused some strange things. Since drunk patrons tip more, the dancers at the topless clubs made more money. However, since the dancers who worked at a club that served alcohol had to be 21 years old ... odds were, if you were looking at a bare ass, she was under 21.

But then the council tried to shut them down anyway. Tried and failed. Apparently, titties demand to be free and freaky, and enough people are willing to pay to watch them in their free state that the measure failed horribly. And now, strip clubs in Lex have taken the gloves off. Nudity and booze have combined in a marriage that can only mean good things for those who enjoy staring at the female form while intoxicated.

    And it is good.

    Ah SS we love you.
I must say that the smoking bad hasn't been that big-a-deal in Lex. It is kinda nice not being in a smokey room.

I love that you went out and protested this weekend SS! Way to support your local establishments :) In total agreement that the ban is stupid. There will be "nekkidness". It's just human nature. However, now the economy in your quaint little town will suffer, while your neighboring cities make a killing.

As for you and RB, road trip to Atlanta!! Better yet, charter a bus and bring all of you!

AG, I LOVE Atlanta! I would up for a trip anytime...use to live near Savannah and I made a few friends in Atlanta. We went to a really big gay bar (can't remember the name) a few times and had a blast...but I think the most fun was us being the center of attraction at some little sports bar! Fun Fun!

You probably went to Backstreet. A huge Atlanta icon for years and the one place a woman could go, gyrate wildly, and not get hassled!! Not to mention a lot of the men looked prettier than the women...lol

However, it is a thing of the past now. They lost their liquor license and that was that. But, the owner of Backstreet has recently opened a new place in Underground. Should be interesting. Haven't been there yet.

Loads of places I could take you! Four women. One weekend. Bring it on!

  • At 2:40 PM, Blogger Rainbow-Bright said…

Yes, that was the place...I even had a "frequent member card" although, I think they gave those to everyone. I kept it for several years. There are some pretty cool places to go in the 'ville also, so maybe a trip north is in your future as well?

Underground was a lot of fun too, we were there during Olympics...one party after another!

  • At 3:26 PM, Blogger ananonymousgirl said…

The road leads both ways and I'm sure we'd have fun in both places!

Unfortunately I was married during the Olympics and going "inside the perimeter" was a sure sign of death as far as my ex was concerned. So I missed that party.

    I'm playing catch up...
